Long Ya Men - Discover the natural heritage, indigenous maritime communities, pirates and geography in ancient Singapore
Spice Trade - Dive into the world of plants, ethnobotany, global trade connections
Galleries & museums* - Dive deeper through curated exhibitions

Developing executive functions - Navigate simple public transport routes and purchase their own lunch to nurture independence with guided support from facilitators
What is our learning approach?
This is a place-based experiential learning program curated for the children to learn through guided observation, journaling, art. Our facilitators will share stories on the topics of archaeology, global connections and citizenry, geography, history and different forms of sense making and applying that to the topic of Singapore’s history since the 13th century. We will read books together and also explore exhibitions and galleries to gleam more information on the topics.
Facilitators will guide the children towards self-directed learning and exploration through:
small group interactions (1:5 facilitator to child ratio)
experiencing places, artefacts, the environment and lived moments through multi-sensorial interactions.
play- and nature-based interactions
observations, dialogues and reflections through journaling and art
collaborative projects

Program Schedule

The program involves walking, water play, learning outdoors and spending time in air-conditioned indoor spaces. Participants would need to ready for different weather with various outfits and footwear but facilitators will assist with heavy loads.
